About Us

More Than a Game, A Path to Growth

At Otters Baseball Club, we believe youth baseball is about more than just playing a game. It is about shaping athletes into confident, disciplined, and resilient individuals who carry these values with them far beyond the field. Our program is built on a deep passion for player development, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence at every level.

Our Philosophy

At the heart of the Otters is a simple philosophy: build champions on and off the field. We believe that baseball is a powerful teacher of discipline, resilience, and leadership. Each practice and every game is an opportunity to develop skills, foster character, and inspire athletes to pursue excellence in all aspects of life.

The Otters are more than a travel baseball organization. We are a family that values discipline, teamwork, and respect while pushing athletes to reach their fullest potential. Our approach combines high-level competition with a supportive environment that ensures every player feels challenged, encouraged, and motivated to grow.

OUR ROOTS

Otters Baseball Club was built on a strong foundation of teaching, development, and passion for thegame of baseball. That foundation began with Lou Ott Baseball, a private LLC owned and operated by Lou Ott, which has provided player development, training, and instruction for athletes in our community for more than a decade.

Our Growth

In 2024, the vision expanded with the creation of Otters Baseball Club, Inc., a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The Club is governed by a Board of Directors and is home to eight competitive travel baseball teams. Our mission is to provide elite player development and opportunities for young athletes, while keeping the focus on teamwork, character, and a love of the game.

TWO ENTITIES, ONE SHARED PASSION

While LouOtt Baseball continues to operate as a private LLC for training and camps, Otters Baseball Club, Inc. provides a nonprofit structure that supports travel teams, development opportunities, and access to the game for more families in our community. Together, both entities share the same commitment to helping athletes grow on and off the field.

Our Roots

The Lou Ott Connection

Otters Baseball Club was built on a strong foundation of teaching, development, and passion for the game of baseball. That foundation began with Lou Ott Baseball, a private LLC owned and operated by Lou Ott, which has provided player development, training, and instruction for athletes in our community for more than a decade.

Otters Baseball Club traces its roots back to Lou Ott Baseball (LOB), an organization founded by former professional player Louis Ott. Lou’s lifelong passion for the game inspired him to create a program where today’s athletes could learn from talented instructors who share that same drive to teach and develop future generations.

At LOB, Lou shared his philosophy with players: “If you stay ready, you don’t have to get ready.” His mission was clear—fuel the love of the game while preparing athletes for success both on and off the diamond. That same spirit continues to inspire Otters Baseball Club as we build on a tradition of growth, discipline, and player development.

A Distinct Path Forward

While Otters Baseball Club began with strong roots in Lou Ott Baseball, we are now a legally separate organization with our own leadership, structure, and direction. This distinction allows us to carry forward the best of LOB’s values while creating unique opportunities for Otters players and families.

Our continued focus remains the same: guiding athletes to reach their full potential while building a culture of confidence, character, and competitiveness that extends beyond the game.
